Judith Evon (Snipe) Mechura

Judith Evon (Snipe) Mechura, 76, of Flatonia, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022.  

Judith was born in Ruston, La. on Sept. 17, 1946, the daughter of Willie Geneva (Crowell) and Norman Snipe.

She became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. 

She worked at Hallettsville Rehab and Nursing center for 23 years and loved taking care of her patients, which she did until her retirement.

Judith had a love for crocheting. On Thursdays she would meet her friends in Hallettsville to chat and crochet she enjoyed crocheting for Hospice of South Texas. Donations can be made to Hospice of South Texas in Hallettsville.

Her greatest joy in life was her family and especially, her nineteen wonderful grandchildren. 

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Gail Anderson of Caron Grow, La. and Betty Lyn Mechura of Salem, SD.; sons, John Thomas Anderson of West Point; Edward Lee Mechura of West Point; Christopher Alois Mechura of Ariz.; and 19 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father, Alois Alvin Mechura and sister, Carol Plant.

Services will be held at a later date.    

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas, 306 N. Texana, Hallettsville, Texas 77964.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig - Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange, Texas.
