Leroy Williams

Leroy Williams, of West Covina, Calif., peacefully joined his Heavenly Father in comfort and love on Dec. 2, 2021. He was 94 years old. Leroy was born in Yoakum on June 27, 1927. He attended the Yoakum public schools and graduated from Asberry High School in 1945. He was drafted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. After receiving his discharge, he settled in Los Angeles, Calif. Leroy worked for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power as an electrical journeyman for almost 40 years. He retired in 1987. He was a quiet man who loved working in his garden and being with his family. Leroy loved God and was a faithful member of All Nations SDA Church and spent many years of volunteer service in the church maintenance, treasury, and outreach departments. He also enjoyed being a volunteer for the community Meals on Wheels program. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Claudine Williams; daughters Gayle Santillan, Doreen Hoornbeek, and Denise Iby (Lewis); and six precious grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Sylvia Lamkin Williams; siblings George Williams, Ida Ruth Monroe, Sylvia Kirby; and son Marlon Williams.
