Owen R. Seidenberger, CLU, ChFC, RFC

Owen R. Seidenberger, a lifetime resident of San Antonio, passed away on February 21, 2023 in San Antonio, surrounded by his beloved family.
Owen was born on August 21, 1944, in Shiner. He graduated from LaSalle Catholic High School in San Antonio in 1962.  He earned a B.B.A. degree in Finance and Marketing from St. Mary’s University in 1967 and in 1968 founded Seidenberger & Company, LLC, a financial services company specializing in estate planning, investments, and insurance which operated for 55 years until his death.  
He held a Masters of Financial Services from the American College and was a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC).   He was also a Life Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table for 50 years and was awarded many honors, awards, and trips for his success in insurance and financial planning.
Owen served as a Board Member and Finance Chairman of the Alamo Area Council of Boy Scouts, a Board Member of the San Antonio Consumer Credit Counseling Association, and on the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church Financial Management Committee.  He also served on the founding Board of Directors of Mission Trace subdivision as Administrative Committee Chairman that created the Declaration of Covenants, Restrictions, and Bylaws for Mission Trace.   Additionally he served on 19 subsequent Boards as President, Vice President, and Chairman of numerous operating committees.    
Owen and Patricia enjoyed traveling the world extensively seeing new places and having new adventures on every continent on the planet including memorable trips to Africa, Egypt, China, Japan, Russia, Europe, England, Tahiti, and over 20 U.S. National Parks.  They also enjoyed traveling with their grandchildren to Disneyland and Disneyworld.  Most importantly they wanted their grandchildren to see “American the Beautiful” by visiting over 10 National Parks in the United States including the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Yosemite.  Owen also enjoyed hunting, movies, music, theatre, football, and spending time with his family.
All who knew Owen will greatly cherish his impact on their lives either through love, friendship, mentorship, or spiritual teaching.  His sense of humor was second to none. His compassion gave comfort to all who called him friend.
Owen is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Adamek Seidenberger; son, Jason (Katherine); three grandchildren, Aiden, Cole, and Scarlett; sister, Colleen Koenig (Ervin); brother, Keith (Andrea); brother-in-law, David Adamek (Susan); and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewald Seidenberger and Minola Huber Seidenberger.  
We loved him profoundly and will miss him always.  Life will not be the same without him.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses of the Cardiac ICU at Methodist Texsan Hospital for their compassionate care during Owen’s stay and Owen’s diligent, caring, exceptional cardiologist, Joe Perez, M.D.
A Celebration of Owen’s life will be held on April 29 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church (10703 Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78230)
A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m., with Mass to follow at 11 a.m.
Reception to follow at St. Matthew’s McDonald Family Center at 12 p.m.
