Sandra Gayle Daniels

Sandra Gayle Daniels, age 51, passed away Sept. 22. She was born Dec. 20, 1970 in Rosenberg to Stanley and Evelyn (Green) Snead.

Most people knew her as "Sandy." She worked hard at Tandy Brand, Circle Y, Eddie Packing, and other jobs to provide for her two daughters. She was a strong independent woman who rolled through the punches of life. When she suddenly lost her eyesight in 2011, she persevered and quickly took steps to get her life back. She relearned everyday activities such as cooking and cleaning amongst other things. As if life was not challenging enough, she enrolled herself in Criss Cole School for the Blind, where she learned to read and type in Braille, use computer software, and even picked up a hobby of creating keychains, bookmarks, and other trinkets made of leather. She was invited to the Junior High School to help teach a leather class for a day. Out of all her accomplishments, she considered being a mother and grandmother to be her greatest of all. She had a heart of gold and was always full of jokes, stories of wisdom, and love. It has been said she was always “an angel too close to the ground.” Her legacy of love will live in our hearts always.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathryn Daniels of Yoakum and Emmily Wick of Shiner; grandson Jaxxon Medina.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Dec. 11 at New Life Baptist Church with Brother Adam Jaquez officiating. The burial to be held at a later date.

Arrangements are made by Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, 361-293-5656.
