WILLIAM “BILL” HAAS

William (Bill) Gray Haas, age 80, passed away March 15. He was born Aug. 3, 1941 in Muncie, Ind. to Darol and Martha Green Haas.

He was a salesman for Eddy Packing Company for 25-plus years and was an auctioneer in his spare time.

He was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where he served several terms as a member of the Church Council, was an Assisting Lay Minister for not only services in the church, but also in the nursing home, taught adult Sunday school classes, and participated every year in the Drive-Thru Nativity, and Lutherfest.

Survivors include his daughter, Erica Haas (Ernest); son, Brian Haas; grandchildren, McKenzie, Kieler, Daydrien, Ariel, Adiva, Shyra, CeRye, and Bri’Ann; brother, Michael Haas of Munice, Ind.; sister in- law, Annie Rodriguez of Yoakum; and brother in- law, Ambrosio “Boy” Romero (Patty) of Victoria.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Romero Haas.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on April 2 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Alsen Wenzel officiating.
