10u Minor League boys abuse Calhoun

RICHMOND – Following two sweaty palm games against New Braunfels Red in the District 31 finals, the Hallettsville’s 10u Minor League All-Stars runruled Calhoun, 16-1, Sunday night at George Park Sunday evening.

Hallettsville unleashed 15 hits while starting pitcher Zach Perez threw three innings of one-hit ball, striking out two with two walks.

Seth Seydler pitched the final frame and allowed one walk and no hits.

Hallettsville scored 2 runs on four hits in the first inning on consecutive hits by Alex Grahmann, Cullen Machicek, Aiden Sosa and Perez with Machicek, Sosa and Perez collecting RBI.

Breyden Utley singled and Jake Davenport was hit by a pitch to start the second inning with Utley being driven in by a Cullen Hanslik base hit making the score 4-0.

The locals started to pull away with eight runs in the third inning and four in the fourth.

The big blow in the third inning was a tworun triple by Karter Podhajsky. Seydler, Sosa and Perez stroked runscoring hits.

The scoring ended with four runs in the fourth which saw Podhajsky again driving in two runs, this time with a base hit.

Perez was 3-for-3 with three RBI. Podhajsky drove in four runs with two hits. Utley and Sosa had two hits apiece. Brentley Steffek, Grahmann, Machicek, Davenport, Hanslik and Seydler produced one hit each.
