8U All Stars baseball win the Dist. Title

A strong defense and pitching carried the Hallettsville 8U All Stars to the District 31 East Zone Tournament championship with 4-1 victory over Cuero in Yoakum Sunday night.

Cru Prasek, Dante Gallegos and Grayson Fletcher turned in outstanding performances on the mound for the locals.

Fletcher got Hallettsville off to a good start when he led off the game with an inside-the-park home run to left center. Rhett Sklar bunted for a base hit and moved to third on a single by Truitt Wimberly. Cru Prasek singled, but Wimberly was thrown out at the plate trying to score on the hit. Wes Prasek ensued with a RBI base hit to make it 2-0. 

Hallettsville put across three runs in the third inning on four hits and a hit by pitch to up the score to 5-0.

Fletcher singled before scoring on a wild pitch. Sklar singled and scored on a triple by Wimberly and he scored on a wild pitch for the final run of the inning. Hallettsville had 11 hits to Cuero's three.
