Dowell named head football coach/AD at Sacred Heart
Coach Rodney Dowell has been around the block so to speak.
Dowell signed a contract last week to became the new head football coach/AD at Sacred Heart.
He will replace Alex Seydler, who resigned after two seasons at Sacred Heart.
“I love Hallettsville,” Dowell said. “I got to know a lot of people during my stint at Hallettsville High School.”
Dowell, 59, coached at here for six years.
Dowell was the head football at Flatonia for one year, head coach for three seasons at Louise and two seasons at Van Vleck. He has an overall record of 34-32.
“I got a great recommendation from former coach Tommy Psencik,” Dowell said. “He had a lot to do with me getting this job. I love small towns.
Dowell will start at Sacred Heart Wednesday, March 19.
