Indians split district games

The Sacred Heart Indians split TAPPS District 5 Division IV games last week.

The Indians (17-5,2-2) defeated Pflugerville Concordia on the road Friday, 73-50.

Andrew Steffek poured in 20 points while Klayton Chance and Nic Angerstein scored 12 apiece.

Bulverde Bracken’s Wyatt Parsons scored 12 of his game-high 32 points in overtime in the 82-76 overtime victory over the Indians here Tuesday, Jan. 9.

The teams were tied 65-65 after regulation.

The Indians led 17-11 at the end of the first quarter after Klayton Chance scored 6 points and Austin Kutac 5.

The Warriors grabbed the upper hand at the half, 36-34.

The teams were again tied at 49-all entering the fourth period.

Five players scored in double digits for the Indians with Andrew Steffek having a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Nic Angerstein checked in with 16 points, Klayton Chance and Cade Steffek both had 15 and Hudson Kutac 10.

Both teams were hot from the field with the Warriors shooting 52.6% and SH 52.3%. The Indians were just 8 of 24 from the free-throw line and the Warriors 13 of 25.
