Indians win overtime, 36-35
It was only fitting that the Sacred Heart-Round Top-Carmine game went to overtime.
Either team could hit the side of a barn in regulation or OT before the Indians eked out a 36- 35 victory here Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Cash Robinson hit two free throws for the Cubs to start the overtime period for a 35-33 lead. After the Indians missed two free throws, a lay up by Andrew Steffek tied the game with 1:06 remaining.
A Lance Barton free throw provided the difference at 36-35.
SH took a 9-2 lead at the end of the first quarter before RT-C tied the game at half at 15-all.
The Indians led 24- 21 after three periods thanks to two buckets and a three by Hudson Kutac.
An ill-advised foul by the Indians on a threepoint shot sent William Nees to the foul line with no time remaining in regulation. Nees calmly made all three foul shots.
