JL boys sweep New Braunfels

NEW BRAUNFELS – The Hallettsville Jr. League All-Stars completed a sweep of a best-ofthree series with a 6-4 victory over New Braunfels American Sunday night.

Gavyn Chapa was the winning pitcher and started the scoring in the top of the first inning with a triple that scored Ty Sklar, who had doubled. Chapa scored on a single by Jack Amsden.

Nathan Harvey singled to begin the third inning and came across on a bases-loaded walk.

Ben Meinkowsky walked in the fourth inning and scored on a wild pitch.

Amsden’s double in the fifth plated a run.

Kale Mikes scored on a fielder’ choice by Connor Jansky in the sixth inning.

The final run came after Sklar singled and scored on a base hit by Amsden.

Amsden was 3-for-4.
