Jr. League team finishes season with 6-2-1 ledger

Hallettsville Jr. League completed its season here Friday with a doubleheader against Gonzales Orange. 

Hallettsville had a final ledger of 6-2-1.

In the first game, the teams fought to a 1-1 tie that featured a pitcher's duel.

Ty Henneke pitched four innings and gave up an unearned fun, no hits, struck out seven and walked two.

His counterpart, Hays Gray, retired 10 in a row before issuing walks to Myles Kalmus, Ty Rother and Konnor Chance to load the bases in the fourth inning before striking out the next two batters to end the threat.

Hallettsville scored its final run off reliever Mark Martinez in the fifth and final inning.

Bracton Hearn walked and went to second on a base hit by Henneke to lead off the inning. After a fielder's choice, Scott Strode doubled to left center to score Tanner Pustka.

Myles Kalmus pitched a score-less fifth inning. 

In the nightcap, Hallettsville won 12-2 in four innings.

Will Halata threw a no-hitter and struck out 11 with four walks.

Adam Halata had two hits and Braxton Hearn, Tanner Pustka, Strode, Easton New and Luke Meinkowsky one apiece.

Hallettsville was aided by several walks and hit batsmen.
