    The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas began practice Saturday with 38 players.

    Coach Courtney Olbert will try to steer the ship in the right direction after three-straight seasons in missing the playoffs.

    “Our goal, of course, is to make the playoffs,” Olbert said. “I feel we have the kids to do it.”

    The Lady Brahmas will have plenty of height in Jans Henke and Christine Felcman. Felcman started as a freshman last year and was named Newcomer of the Year.

    Setter Alaina Halata was all-district last year.

    The Lady Brahmas will go to Schulenburg for scrimmages Friday and Saturday respectively.

    Hallettsville visits Stockdale Tuesday, Aug. 14 for the season opener.
