Lady Brahmas Championship Bound
Hallettsville conquers Mount Vernon 4-3
The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas advanced to the Conference 3A Championship after a narrow 4-3 win in eight innings over the Mount Vernon Lady Tigers Wednesday, June 1.
Hanna Zachary crossed the plate for Hallettsville’s game-winning run with an RBI from Kaylie Olivarez. Several other batters made contact contributing to the lady Brahma’s eighth-inning rally including Emily Migl with a sac fly and hits from Courtney Woytek and Hanna Zachery.
Kaylie Olivarez took over as relief pitcher to start the fifth inning, joining Emily Migl to allow only four hits and one earned run.
The Lady Brahma’s playoff streak continues tomorrow at 1 p.m. against the Coahoma Bulldoggettes.
The Coahoma team is coming off a 14-10 victory against Franklin in the Class 3A state semifinals.
