Lady Brahmas drop season opener

    Stockdale’s outside hitter LeAnn Wise almost single handily defeated the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas to spoil Courtney Olbert’s coaching debut here Tuesday, Aug. 13.

    Wise had 22 kills in the 25-23, 25-21, 25-21 victory in the season opener for both teams.

    The LB gave up 12 points on service errors. to go along 12 attack errors.

    In the end, Hallettsville could not get it done in the clutch.

    There were 10 ties in the 25-23 Brahma win. The LB were up 22-19 before Wise led a 6-1 run with four kills to close out the set.

    After eight ties in the second set, Stockdale outscored Hallettsville 10-5 to win 25-21.

    Stockdale again finished strong in the third set, breaking away from a 17-all tie to win, 25-21.
