Lady Brahmas tied for District 25-AAA lead

The best way to describe the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas’ District 25-AAA victory over El Maton Tidehaven is “big.”

The LB (15-3, 7-2) scored four runs in the first inning and held on for a 5-4 win over the Tigerettes here Tuesday, March 25.

The LB had lost, 4-2, to Tidehaven Feb. 25.

Grace Halata went the distance and gave up two earned runs, four hits, walked one and struck out two.

Tidehaven took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a single and error.

Hanna Zachary got the four-run rally started with a single to right field. She moved to all the way to third when Caitlynn Halata’s bunt was mishandled for an error and she later scored on a wild pitch. Caitlynn Halata scored on an infield out by Taylor Yeatts for the second out. Down in the count 1-2, Addison Matula doubled to left center field to get Caitlynn Halata across. Elizabeth Felcman ensued with a run-scoring single for the 4-1 lead.

The Tigerettes inched closer with a run in the third prior to Hallettsville replying with a tally in the bottom of the inning for a 4-2 advantage.
