Lady Brahmas win
The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas got off to a slow start in their District 23- AAA match-up with Yoakum here Friday.
The LB committed 14 turnovers in the first half and trailed 23-18 at the intermission.
However, Addison Matula led a third quarter splurge with eight points with all eight coming after she had stolen the ball. Hallettsville scored 28 points in the after stumbling all over themselves in the initial two quarters.
The LB led 12-9 after the first eight minutes prior to Yoakum taking a 23-18 advantage at the half after Devach Rios scored 8 points.
But Hallettsville’s fortunes changed in the third canto by forcing 9 Yoakum turnovers.
Alaina Halata led all scorers with 16 points with 13 coming in the second half. Matula pitched in with 11 points.
Hallettsville is 6-3 in district.

The LB were all over Rice Consolidated 56-18, Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Altair to start the second half of district play.
Hallettsville jumped out to a 17-8 start and extended the lead to 26-11 at the half.
All but one player scored for the LB and three were in double figures.
