Lady Brahmas win Wimberley

WIMBERLEY – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas lapped the field in the Wimberley Tournament over the weekend in going 4-0.

The LB (11-1) defeated Weimar, 8-5, Saturday in five innings in a game where the time limit caught up with the teams.

The score was tied 3-3 before Hallettsville scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and took the lead on Macey Pustka’s three-run homer.

Ella Amsden doubled and Hanna Zachary tripled. Pustka was 2-for-2 and Carson Jansky also had a hit.

The Lady Brahmas batted .560 in the Wimberley win Saturday.

The LB amassed 14 hits - seven for extra bases - with Kaylie Olivarez getting three hits in three plate appearances and four RBI and Hanna Zachary going 3-for-4 with three runs batted in.

Ella Amsden and Macie Pustka contributed two hits apiece and Rebecca Satsky, Macie Jansky, Carson Jansky and Grace Halata also hit safely

LB 10, Gonzales 0 (6)

A three-run sixth ended the game early in the victory over Gonzales.

Madison Mikes (4-0) pitched all six innings and gave up just one hit, a walk to go along with 10 strikeouts.

LB 8, Academy 5

Grace Halata tossed four innings and Kaylie Olivarez was the winning pitcher in relief in the Thursday victory.

Halata ceded two hits, two runs (one earned) walked two and struck out seven.

Olivarez worked the final two frames and gave up three runs (one earned), three hits, walked one and struck out two.

Hallettsville had two, three-run innings and collected 12 hits.

Hanna Zachary was 4-for-4, Carson Jansky 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI, Grace Halata 2-for-3, Macie Jansky 2-for-4 with a double. Olivarez also hit safely.

Kaylie Olivarez (6-0) stymied the Eagles with a two-hitter in Friday’s victory.

Olivarez gave up two hits and one walk while recording 13 strikeouts.

Olivarez was backed by a 13-hit attack.

Hanna Zachary and Ella Amsden were both 3-for-4 and Carson Jansky doubled and tripled and had two hits. Rebecca Satsky and Macie Jansky doubled, Madison Mikes, Macey Pustka and Olivarez also had hits.
