Lady Bulldogs score big wins against Rice Luling
The Yoakum High School Lady Bulldogs Soccer Team has scored multiple goals in each of their recent wins at Rice and home to Luling.

A brace by Daphne Oviedo, and a single score each by Mileydi Gonzalez and Aubrie Jendrzey saw the Lady Bulldogs soccer team post a 4-0 win against Luling on Friday.
All of the Lady Bulldog players saw action in the game.
“It was a good little win for us. I was able to get a lot of players in to get some experience,” Lady Bulldog Head Coach Melissa Colman said. “We had a lot of our second-string in and it was good run for everybody. I also liked the fact my girls had a lot of fun.”
Oviedo and Brianna Lopez combined for some shots in the opening seven minutes, and Oviedo had a headed shot straight at Luling’s keeper Dafna Cruz.
The Lady Bulldogs made its first breakthrough in the 11 minutes in— Andrea Reyes-Martinez sent a pass that made its way to Gonzalez who was near the goal and she touched the ball in.
A minute later, Oviedo had another shot go wide.
The Lady Eagles struggled to get out of its own part of the field for most of the first half until Jasmine Mercado put through a pass to Jasmin Cortez, who was ruled offsides.
The Lady Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead at the 18:21 mark with an Oviedo shot from the left side of the box.
Four minutes later, Jendrzey got a one-on-one breakaway and finished her chance from the left side of the box.
In the final 10 minutes or so of the half, the Lady Bulldogs took several corner kicks, but could not score another goal.
The Lady Bulldogs scored mere seconds into the second half as a direct free kick by Illana Garcia sailed into the box and eventually was knocked in by Oviedo for her second goal.

The Lady Bulldogs found the net several times in a 4-1 win at Rice Jan. 19.
Jendrzey, Oviedo, Jackie Melendez, and Illana Garcia each tallied one goal for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Bulldog defense and goalkeeping allowed just a single goal for the Lady Raiders.
