Lady Bulldogs win against Industrial

The Lady Bulldogs went 1-1 in two district games last week at Industrial and at Columbus.

The Lady Bulldogs scored 20 points in each half against the Lady Cobras 40-18 on Dec. 12.

The game was tied at 5-5 after the first quarter and the Lady Bulldogs went on a 15-4 run in the second quarter for a 20-9 halftime lead.

The Lady Bulldogs scored eight of 11 points in the third quarter and outscored Industrial 12-6 in the fourth quarter.

Jayana Phillips led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points and Deveah Rios added seven points.

Mills led the Lady Cobras with 17 points.

COLUMBUS 47, YOAKUM 42

Destiny Rios and Phillips each scored in double digits, 14 and 11, respectively, but the Lady Bulldogs came up short against the Lady Cardinals 47-42 on Dec. 15.

Columbus took a 15-11 lead at the conclusion of the first quarter and each team scored 11 points in the second quarter for 26- 22 Columbus lead.

The Lady Cardinals increased their lead by one after the third quarter with a 12-11 scoring advantage. The teams each made nine points in the fourth quarter.

Jalufka was Columbus’s point leader with 15. Evans chipped in 12 points and Riddle added 11 points.
