    The Lady ‘Dogs Softball Team rallied to win over Industrial 3-2 April 12 in Industrial and routed Rice Consolidated 15-0 Friday at home.

    YOAKUM 3, INDUSTRIAL 2

    The Lady ‘Dogs rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the top of the sixth by scoring three runs and limited Industrial to one run in seventh to edge the Lady Cobras 3-2.

    Kylie Velek got two hits and a double. Kaci Idlett got two hits and a home run. Julia Fojt got the win with 6 2/3 innings pitched with two runs on three hits, two walks, and nine strikeouts. Madilynn Steinmann pitched 1/3 innings in relief, getting a save.Lexi Zaruba led on defense with four putouts.

    Yoakum hitting/offense: Kaci Idlett, 2-3, 1 home run, 1 run, 2 RBI; Kylie Velek, 2-4, 1 run, 1 double; Macie Blakeney, 1-3, 1 run, 2 stolen bases; Olivia Fojt, 1-3, 1 stolen base; Madilynn Steinmann 1-1.

    An eight-run third inning was the key in the Lady ‘Dogs’ 15-0 win over Rice Consolidated on April 14.

    The Lady ‘Dogs scored two runs in each of the first and second innings and were ahead 12-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth where they scored three more runs to end the game. Julia Fojt got six strikeouts and held Rice to four hits.

    In the field, Steinmann had three putouts.
