LB finish district 14-0
The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas had a good Senior Night in the 15-0, three-inning whitewashing of the Industrial Cobras in a district 25- AAA game here Friday evening.
Hallettsville is 31-2 and 14-0. The LB will host San Antonio Cole at 7 p.m. in the bi-district round Friday
Kaylie Olivarez (12-1) retired eight of the 10 batters she faced, allowed a walk and fanned five.
Macie Jansky took over the team’s home run lead by hitting her 14th of the season in a 12-run first inning. Hallettsville went 14-for17 in the game. Hanna Zachary, Macie Jansky, Grace Halata, Carson Jansky and Madison Mikes all had two hits. Macey Pustka and Carson Jansky doubled.
LB 11, TIDEHAVEN 1 (5)
Tidehaven was the last team to take Hallettsville to seven innings. The LB run-ruled the Tigerettes, 11-1, here Tuesday evening, April 16.
Madison Mikes earned her 10th win against no defeats and pitched the first four innings. The senior right hander ceded one hit, one run, a walk and fanned four.
Kaylie Olivarez threw the final frame and retired the Tigerettes in order with two strikeouts.
Grace Halata hit her fifth and sixth home runs of the season, both solo shots.
The LB scored a run in the first inning when Hanna Zachary singled and scored on a wild pitch.
Tidehaven tied the score at 1-1 on Andria Duckett’s run-scoring double in the second inning.
A home run by Halata gave Hallettsville a 2-1 lead prior to the LB putting up a big crooked number in the third inning, batting around plus one.
Olivarez, Ella Amsden, Carson Jansky, Macey Pustka and Rebecca Satsky all had hits in the inning.
Halata’s first home run in the second inning put the LB up 2-1 prior to a six-run third when 10 batters went to the plate.
Every starter had a hit but one. Zachary, Satsky, Amsden and Halata produced two hits apiece.
NOTES: Kaylie Olivarez has 509 career strikeouts … Hanna Zachary continues to lead the team in hitting with a .649 average and .669 on base percentage. Macie Jansky is batting .618 and Carson Jansky .598.
