LB Opens District With Loss to Edna
The Hallettsville dropped its 25-AAA opener to Edna, 25-22, 25-19, 24-26, 25-18 here Friday evening.
There were 10 ties in the first set before Edna took the lead for good. LB trailed 23-22 prior to Edna finishing the set with a kill and block.
Edna broke a 14-all tie with a 6-0 run to take the second set, 25-19.
The third set was one for the ages. The LB came back from a 24-16 deficit to win 26-24.
Three kills by Kasey Harper, a block and a kill by Kenedy Wood and an Edna attack error sparked the surge.
However, the momentum did not carry over the fourth set. Edna built up a 21-11 edge to win going away, 25-19.
Harper, Alaina Halata and Ella Amsden all had double-double. Harper had 18 kills, 11 digs and Amsden 11 kills and 10 dig and Halata 33 assists and 12 digs.
The LB had 7 service errors and 27 attack errors.
Note: Palacios, Yoakum and Palacios also had district-opening wins.
