LB win three, lose one in Katy Tournament

KATY – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas won three and lost one in the Katy ISD Tournament Thursday and Saturday.

LB 8, Spring 1

Grace Halata and Taylor Yeatts combined for a no-hitter in the 10-1 victory Saturday over Spring.

Halata worked four innings and gave up one unearned run, 4 hits, walked 3 and fanned 4.

Yeatts worked one frame and did not give up a hit with one strikeout.

Addison Matula, who played in the LB basketball game Friday night, hit a two-run homer and drove in 4 runs.

Elizabeth Felcman went 3 for 3, Halata tripled and Yeatts and Macey Pustka singled.

Katy 12, LB 1

Hallettsville was runruled by Katy Saturday.

Caitlynn Halata doubled and scored the lone run and Kenley Kalmus singled.

LB 8, Katy Cinco Ranch 7

Hallettsville rallied for two runs in the top of the fifth inning to nip Katy Cinco Ranch, 8-7, Thursday.

The Cougars scored a run in the final frame for the one-run difference.

Macey Pustka led off the sixth inning with a single and scored on an error. Ditto for Elizabeth Felcman who was safe on an error and scored on a miscue.

The LB out-hit the Cougars 11-9 with Hanna Zachary going 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored. Zachary doubled and tripled. Kenley Kalmus also doubled.

Grace Halata went the full 6 innings and gave up 9 hits, 7 runs, 3 walks and struck out 3. She threw 92 pitches, 58 for strikes.

LB 12, Jersey Village 3

The LB defeated Houston Jersey Village, 12-3, on Thursday in a fiveinning contest.

Hallettsville collected 13 hits in the five frame game and took advantage of 6 Falcon errors.

Hanna Zachary led the way with 3 hits in 4 plate appearances with two triples and scored 4 runs.

Grace Halata, Macey Pustka, Taylor Yeatts and freshman Caitlynn Halata all hit safely two times.

Caitlynn Halata, Yeatts and Macey Pustka hit doubles and Grace Halata tripled.

Grace Halata went all 5 innings and ceded 3 runs (two earned) and four hits, walked one.
