Little League starts 2025 season

The 2025 Hallettsville Little League season started Saturday morning with all of the teams participating in the league parading on to the softball field for the opening day ceremonies.

Ray of the Splashway Water Park of Sheridan threw out the first pitch while members of the 42 teams in the league as well as managers, coaches and sponsors were present on the field.

Prior to the first pitch, Sacred Heart Catholic Church Deacan Mike Tankersley conducte d the invocation and was followed by the National Anthem sung by Kendall Thompson and Vianne Vilocillo.

Throughout the day, teams competed on all four fields with four games taking place on Fields 1, 2 and 4, while Field 3 had six games played.

According to Hallettsville Little League president Ashley Grahmann this year the league has 438 players ranging from age 5 to 15 playing in the league and competing in various divisions of baseball and softball.

With the season having officially begun, games are scheduled almost every evening during the week and the public is invited to come watch the young baseball/softball players display their talents.
