local golf: LC win Cuero Tournament
Shiner-area golf teams competed at Weimar, Yoakum and Cuero in recent action.
Shiner girls
Weimar Tournament
The Lady Comanches #1 team won the Weimar Tournament on Feb. 28 with a score of 411.
Chelsea Whiddon led with a 96; Bri Sofka and Grace Migl each carded a 103. Morgan Lenehan recorded a 109 and Olivia Akin had a 119.
The Shiner #2 team had a team score of 495 led by Chesney Machacek who had a 121. Evy Johnson scored a 124; Jaleigh Ramirez and Madeline Collins had a 125.
Cuero Tournament
Shiner #1 team won the Cuero Tournament on March 5 with a team score of 386.
Whiddon was first medalist with a 91; Migl carded a 97 for second medalist; Lenehan registered a 98 for third medalist.; Sofka had a 109 and Callie Chrismon scored a 109.
Shiner #2 placed sixth with 494. Machacek had a 113; Akin had a 115; Ramirez booked a 130; Johnson had a 136 and Collins had a 137.

Cuero Tournament
The Lady Cardinals sent two teams to the Cuero Tournament on March 5.
The St. Paul A team scored 447 for second place.
Riley Mozisek carded a 103; Mary Sue Filip had a 112; Faith Brown carded a 115; Skylar Mozisek booked a 117 and Reese Seibert had a 118.
The St. Paul B team scored a 529 and were led by Camie Robles who had a 120. Erica Hunke had a 133; Kylie Kelso carded a 134 and Annslie Callais had a 142.

Yoakum Tournament
The Cardinals scored 385 to tie for fourth place with Beeville at the Yoakum Tournament on Feb, 27.
Nathan Timmons led St. Paul with 90, Jackson Seibert carded a 93; Vance Lucas recorded a 96; Tate Anders carded a 106 and Joseph Davis had a 107. Carter Chilek was an individual medalist and came in third at 123.
Cuero Tournament
At the Cuero Tournament on March 4, the Cardinals scored 373 points.
Lucas was the top scorer with 89; Timmons had a 90; Seibert carded a 91; Davis tallied a 103 and Anders had a 107.
