Moulton baseball: Katz nine sweep Runge 20-10, 12-9 in bi-district round

The Moulton baseball team swept Runge in the bi-district round, 20-10 and 
The Katz were scheduled to start the area-round series against Knippa yesterday in Somerset. 
The second game will be tomorrow at 5 p.m in Jourdanton and game three, if needed, will be 30 minutes after game two.
Moulton 20, Runge 10 (Game 1)
The Katz scored 11 runs in the third inning in a 20-10 win over Runge in the series opener.
Moulton led 2-0 after one inning and 2-1 after two innings. The Katz led 14-4 after the fourth inning; Runge outscored them 2-1 in the fifth inning; Katz scored five and yielded four in the sixth inning.
At the plate for the Katz, Landon Chaloupka was 3-for-4 with four runs; Colton Abbt doubled and scored three runs; Kenton Kirkland was 2-for-4 and scored two runs; Joshua Serna collected two hits and plated two runs. Greyson Anderle  was 1-for-3, three runs. Hunter Anderle scored three runs. Brandon Colchado added two runs and Carlos Trevino scored one run. 
Chaloupka pitched, allowing nine hits.

Moulton 12, Runge 9 (Game 2)
Moulton rallied from 5-2 deficit in the top of the fourth, scoring seven runs and taking a 12-9 win to close the series. 
Runge got within 9-7 after the fifth inning and outscored Moulton 2-1 in the sixth. The Katz finished things by outscoring Runge 2-0 in the seventh.
Chaloupka got four hits with a double and scored four runs. Abbt plated one run; Kirkland was 1-for-2 with one run; Greyson Anderle scored two runs; Hunter Anderle got two hits and scored one run.  Colchado was 1-for-3 and had one run; Trevino doubled and scored one run.  Carson Beyer chipped in one hit and one run.
