Moulton boys basketball: Katz open district with win over Nordheim
Moulton boys basketball won against Brazos in non district and defeated Nordheim to start district last week.
Moulton 64, Nordheim 38
Landon Chaloupka scored 17 points and made three treys in Moulton’s 64-38 win over Nordheim in the district opener Friday at home.
The Katz led 17-0 after one quarter and outscored the Pirates 17-16 in the second box.
Moulton went on a 19-9 third-quarter run and Nordheim scored 13 of 24 points in the fourth quarter.
Also scoring double digits for the Katz was Alex Trevino with 11 points (three triples) and Hunter Anderle with 10 points (two treys).
Jayson Burch led Nordheim with three triples and 11 points.

Trevino recorded 12 points with a trey and Kenton Kirkland chipped in 11 points with one tres as the Katz defeated Wallis Brazos 52-46 at home on Jan 13 to end non district.
Moulton led 16-9 after eight minutes and 30-19 at halftime.
The teams split 22 points in the third frame and the Cougars went on a 16-11 run in the fourth quarter.
Haiden Hickman was the top Cougar with 14 points and a pair of triples.
