Moulton softball: Kittens advance to regional final
The Kittens softball team captured the regional-semifinal title with a 10-4 win over Leakey on Friday.
Moulton led 2-0 after one inning and scored one run in the second inning. Both teams scored two runs in the third.
Moulton outscored Leakey 1-0 in the third inning and then outscored the Lady Eagles 4-1 in the sixth inning. Leakey scored one run in the seventh inning.
Bethany Kram sat 11 batters as she yielded four runs on nine hits and had one walk.
Katie Richter made six putouts on defense.
At the plate, Valeria Pindo was 2-for-3, two RBI, one run and double; Araceli Vasquez got two hits, scored two runs and brought in two runs; Taylor Self was 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Addison Simper tripled, scored two urns and had one RBI; Madison Rothbauer doubled with one RBI.
