Moulton softball: Kittens softball split with Ganado JV, rout Louise
The Kittens softball team split a doubleheader with the Ganado junior varsity and beat Louise 21-5 in district acton last week.
Moulton 18, Ganado JV 1 (Game 1)
The Kittens ouscored the Maidens 15-1 in the first inning and quickly ended the first game 18-1 in three inning.
Moulton plated three runs in the second frame.
The Kittens needed just eight hits, with Araceli Vasquez going 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI. Taylor Self doubled, had two runs and three RBI.
Bethany Kram held Ganado to one run on four hits with one strikeout.
Sophia Leadford led the defense with three putouts.

The teams combined for 35 runs, 25 hits and 20 errors in an 18-17 Maiden win in the second game.
Moulton led 4-3 after one inning; Ganado outscored them 4-1 in the second inning; Moulton retook the lead 10-8 after the end of the third frame. Ganado outscored them 4-1 in the fourth and 6-3 in the fifth. Moulton scored three runs in the sixth but failed to drew level in the seventh.
Self got three hits, scored three runs, had three RBI and doubled. Richter was 3-for-5, double, three runs and an RBI, Vasquez doubled, two hits, two runs and three RBI while Simper scored five runs on two hits, double and two RBI; Karsyn Blahuat got two hits and one RBI.
Kram pitched pitched 4 2/3 innings with eight hits, eight runs, two walks and two strikeouts; Simper pitched 1 1//3 innings, 10 runs on three hits, six walks and two strikeouts.
On defense, Rothbauer had three putouts and one assists with Abigail Siegel and Simper each getting three putouts.

Moulton 21, Louise 5
The Kittens scored 15 runs in the top of the third for a 21-5 win over the Lady Hornets in three innings on Friday.
Louise pulled a couple of runs back as they scored four in the bottom of the inning.
Moulton led 3-1 after the first inning and outscored Louise 3-0 in the second frame.
Self hit 2-for-3, triple, double, two runs and four RBI while Simper was 2-for-3, scored two runs, drove in four runs and tripled. Katie Richter doubled, scored four runs and had two RBI; Kram was 1-for-3, double and RBI.
Kram yielded seven hits, five runs, two walks and six strikeouts in three innings pitched.
