'Nettes finish 2nd
The Sacred Heart Indianettes finished second in its Second Annual Booster Club Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Shiner finished first, Yoakum third, Austin Hyde Park fourth and Tidehaven fifth.
A 5-0 loss to Tidehaven prevented the Indianettes from taking the championship.
SH had just three hits in the four-inning game.
The only big threat came in the fourth inning. Kenzie Chance and Rylan Dworsky led off with singles, but were left stranded.
Avery Beach had the other hit in the second inning before being erased on a double play.
SH 6, Edna 5
Emma Demel’s walkoff double in the final inning gave the Indianettes a 6-5 victory Friday night.
The two-bagger drove in Kenzie Chance, who singled with one out.
SH 13, Hyde Park 7
A nine-run third inning catapulted the Indianettes to a 13-7 victory over Austin Hyde Park Saturday afternoon. The Indianettes trailed 7-4.
SH scored its runs on seven hits and three Lady Panther errors. Avery Beach hit a solo home run in the frame and Rylan Dworsky, Karley Kostelnik, Ainsley Grahmann, Phoenix Richter, Kennedy Zappe and Lanie Haas all singled.
Beach hit a three-run homer in the first inning and now has three on the season.
SH 8, Goliad 0
The Indianettes defeated Goliad 8-0 Thursday morning.
Avery Beach held the Tigerettes to two hits in the four-inning game. Beach struck out six and walked one.
The Indianettes put up a five spot in the first inning on four hits and an error. Emma Demel hit a two-run single, Kinsley Grahmann a sacrifice fly and Beach got in a run with a base hit.
The Indianettes scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings.
SH had 11 hits. Kenzie Chance and Demel both went 3 for 3. Chance scored three runs and Demel was also 3 for 3 with a double and three RBI.
Beach had two hits and drove in two runs, Karley Kostelnik singled and scored and Kinley Migl singled.
SH 8, Yoakum 3
Emma Demel and Avery Beach both homered in the 8-3 victory Thursday night.
Beach hit a three-run blast in the first inning and Demel a two-run round tripper in the second.
Beach held Yoakum to five hits, two earned runs, recorded five strikeouts and walked two.
SH scored four runs in both the first and second innings.

Boling was way out of its class in the 10-0 loss to the Indianettes Friday morning.
Freshman Ainsley Grahmann made her first varsity start and gave up two hits in the threeinning game and recorded five strikeouts.
Emma Demel and Karley Kostelnik two hits apiece.
