'Nettes Finish Dist. Undefeated
SHINER – With the TAPPS District 5, Division IV title already in tow, the Sacred Heart Indianettes defeated St. Paul 25-20, 25-14, 25-16 Tuesday, Oct. 17.
The first set was testy for the Indianettes. After six ties, the last at 15, SH started pulling away and built up 21-17 lead, after two kills by Annika Brooks and one by Ava Lackey. SP whittled the lead to 22-20, but fell apart after that with three hitting errors.
There were two ties early in the second set prior to a 7-0 run by the Indianettes which was paced by Elena Grahmann’s two kills, an ace by Brooks and a Mallory Mueller block leading the way.
SH prevented the match going any further with a 24-16 third set victory.
The Indianettes (24-8, 14-0) have a first round bye in the playoffs and will go in with a 15-match winning streak.
Brooks had 11 kills and Tori Walker led the Cardinals with 6.
