SH cops district opener

Sacred Heart swept Bulverde Bracken Christian 25-14, 25-23, 25-12 in its TAPPS opener here Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The Indianettes (9-12, 1-0) had a slight hiccup in the second set. “We dominated in sets 1 and 3 and in set 2 they almost got us,” Indianettes head coach Orsak said. “We have to play all the time, every point.”

Annika Brooks, who had 17 kills, had 7 in the first set to lead that win.

SH’s biggest lead was 21-8 before closing out the set.

The Lady Warriors leapt out to a 15-8 advantage in the second set prior to an 8-0 run by SH. Ella Demel led the surge with 5 aces for a 16-15 lead.

The Lady Warriors would not go away and after being tied at 16, 21, 22,the Indianettes used a kill by Rylan Dworsky and 4 violations by Bracken to seal the win.

SH also won the JV match, 25-12, 25-22.
