Shiner baseball: Comanches rout Weimar to give head coach Daniel Boedeker 500th victory

    Shiner defeated Weimar and Ganado in two district games last week.

    The Comanches routed Weimar 18-1 March 17 in Weimar to give head coach Daniel Boedeker his 500th win as a head baseball coach.
    Boedeker has spent 29 total years coaching baseball, six as an assistant and 23 as head coach.
    Weimar led 1-0 after one inning before Shiner scored nine runs in the second and nine in the fourth.
    Bode Werner was hot on the bats by going 3-for-3, three doubles, four runs and four RBI. Jacob Nerada hit 2-for-3, double and two RBI while Landyn Pohler got two hits, one double and two RBI.
    Pohler earned the win on the mound with one run on two hits and five strikeouts in four innings.
    Werner led the defense with four putouts.

    Jake Simper got two hits and scored two runs while Charlie Clifford was 2-for-2, double and one RBI as Shiner shut out Ganado 4-0 Friday at Green-Dickson Park.
    Shiner led 1-0 after one inning and was ahead 2-0 after two frames.
    The Comanches scored one run in the fourth and one in the fifth.
    Clifford went the distance on the mound, holding Ganado to one hit, walking two and striking out 12.
    Werner had six putouts and two assists in the field.
