Shiner baseball: Comanches win all three of their games at SH tournament

The Shiner Comanches went 3-0 in the Sacred Heart tournament last week.
Shiner 8, Victoria St, Joseph 0
Charlie Clifford gave up one hit and fanned 10 as the Comanches opened the tournament with an 8-0 win over Victoria St. Joseph on Thursday.
Shiner led 4-0 after one inning and 6-0 after two innings before scoring two runs in the fifth frame.
Luke Dierlam was 2-for-2, triple, double and two RBI; Lane Simper hit 1-for-3, with one run; Landyn Pohler scored two runs.
Dierlam made four putouts on defense.

Shiner 6, Northside Falcons Homeschool JV 2
The Comanches defeated Northside Falcons Homeschool junior varsity 6-2.
Shiner outscored the Falcons 2-0 in the second inning, 1-0 in the third and 1-0 in the fourth. The Falcons outscored Shiner 1-0 in the fifth, Shiner returned the favor in the sixth and both teams scored one run in the seventh.
At the plate, Jacob Nerada and Tyler Harvey each had a double and combined for three RBI.
Lane Simper pitched six frames with four hitsm one run, two walks and nine strikeouts. Dierlam pitched one inning with two hits, one run an done strikeout.
Nerada made four putouts in the field.

Shiner closed out the tournament against cross-town rival St. Paul on Saturday.
Shiner shut out the Cardinals 5-0 and did not yield a hit.
Landyn Pohler pitched the whole game, walked two and struck out a dozen.
The Comanches scored four runs in the third inning and brought one run across in the fourth inning.
Jake Simper was 2-for-4 with one run, one RBI; Lane Simper hit 2-for-3, one run and one RBI.
Landen Christensen made three putouts.
