Shiner baseball: Shiner baseball routs Weimar, loses to Flatonia

The Shiner baseball team run ruled Weimar on March 26 and fell at Flatonia 4-2 on Friday.

Weimar scored in the first frame against the Comanches March 26 in Shiner before the Comanches came back for an 11-1 win in five innings.
The Wildcats plated one run in the first and held off Shiner until the third when the Comanches tied the game. Shiner took the lead 5-1 after four innings and scored six runs in the fifth inning.
Charlie Clifford got the win for Shiner with the single run on three hits with one and 10 strikeouts.
At the plate, Jake Simper was 3-for-3, double two runs, 3 RBI;  Landyn Pohler was 2-for-3, two runs, 3 RBI; Bode Werner was 2-for-2 with one run, double and three RBI; Carson Schuette batted 2-for-4 with one run; Cale Shows was 1-for-3 with two runs; Caleb Lehnert finished 1-fof-2 with one RBI and two runs; Boe Boehm was 1-for-2  with one run.

The Flatonia Bulldogs broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the top of bottom of the sixth and held off Shiner in the top of the seventh to down the Comanches 4-2.
Shiner took a 1-0 lead in the third frame before the Bulldogs went ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth. 
Shiner knotted the game with a single run in the top of the sixth.
Pohler started on the mound, pitched five innings with two runs on five hits, four walks and 10 strikeouts. Kaidan Boothe went one inning, two runs on one hit, two walks and two strikeouts.
Schuette hit 2-for-2 with one run; Shows and Pohler each went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Simper scored one run.
