Shiner boys basketball: Shiner defeats Shorhorns 58-48

Shiner had a good first quarter in its 58-48 win over Schulenburg on Friday.
The Comanches took a 16-8 lead in the first frame and each team scored a dozen points in the second quarter for 28-20 Comanche lead.
Shiner outscored the Shorthorns 12-10 in the third stanza and it was all even in the final eight minutes with both teams netting 18 points. Shiner’s leading scorer was Carson Schuette with 16 points.
Shiner is on the road this week as they played at Louise Tuesday and are at Ganado on Friday.
The Comanches will close out the regular season on Valentine’s Day (next Tuesday) by hosting Weimar.
