Shiner cross country: Burns sets personal best at state CC meet

    Shiner Lady Comanche Hayleigh Burns capped her high school cross-county career with a No. 78 finish out of 150 runners  at the UIL state meet 2A girls race Saturday in Round Rock.
    Burns finished in a time of 13 minutes, 26.10 seconds which was a personal record for her at the state meet; this was her fourth trip to state meet.
    Her mile 1 split was 6:31.50 and her pace was 6:43 per mile.
    Later this school year, Burns will compete in track and field with a chance to go to state in her events in May.
