Shiner football: Brooks, Comanches rout Indians 50-12

Dalton Brooks was a pretty busy guy on offense for Shiner against Ganado Friday in Ganado in the district opener.
Brooks ran for 262 yards and four touchdowns, three of which were 50 yards or longer, and caught a 54-yard pass to see Shiner win 50-12.
Trace Bishop and Carson Schuette added a rushing touchdown each; the Comanche defense came up with a safety, an interception and held Ganado to just two scores.
Brooks scored twice in the opening frame — a 6-yard run at the 6:08 mark and his touchdown reception at the 1:06 mark.
In the second frame, Brooks had touchdown runs of 72 and 52 yards, which sandwhiched the safety (6:01) to give gift the Comanches a 30-0 lead.
Ganado ended the shutout with nine seconds left in the half on a 25-yard pass from Kyle Bures-Guerrero to Landon Hicks with the point after no good.
Brooks scored for the fifth and final time late in the third frame on a 68-yard run.
The Indians got within 37-12 a few minutes into the fourth quarter as Hicks and Bures-Guerrero combined for 16 yards.
In the last six minutes, Bishop scored on a 33-yard run and Carson Schuette punched the ball from 4 yards out.
