Shiner girls basketball: Schulenburg 51, Shiner LCs 43

Shiner senior Hailey Radicke hit four triples and scored 12 points in her final home game as a Lady Comanche to lead Shiner in a 51-43 loss to Schulenburg on Feb. 10.
Senior Jaliyah Barnett netted 10 points and a trey while senior Addy Siegel scored eight points and one triple; junior Lexi Boner added nine points.
The teams shared 22 points in the first quarter and the Lady Shorthorns went on a 17-9 run in second frame for a 28-20 halftime advantage.
Schulenburg scored 17 of 30 points in the third box and Shiner edged the visitors 10-6 in the final frame.
Miranda Bonner sank four treys and recorded 24 points to lead Schulenburg.
Shiner was scheduled to play Granger in the bi-district round on Monday of this week.

The Shiner Lady Comanches junior varsity closed out the season with a 30-25 win over Schulenburg.
The Lady ‘Horns led 2-1 after one quarter but a 9-5 run by Shiner in the second frame gave them a 10-7 halftime advantage. The teams shared 26 third-quarter points and Shiner outscored Schulenburg 7-5 in the final quarter.
Kallee Kifer led Shiner in the scorebook with six points and also had five steals, three rebounds, one assist. Megan Burns had one assist, one rebound; Jewel Caka had one steal; Madi Hubbard added six steals, three rebounds, one assist; Taylor Kocian had one assist, one rebound; Timbarlynn Jones finished with two rebounds, one steal; Tinsley Vasek had one rebound; Harper Lenehan tallied two assists, two rebounds, one steal. The Lady Comanches finished at 14-4 and 9-1 in district.
