Shiner girls basketball: Siegel, Shiner zip past SH 49-8

    The Lady Comanches started the New Year with a small bang in a 49-8 rout of Hallettsville Sacred Heart on Jan. 2 in Hallettsville.
    Addy Siegel scored 10 points with a pair of triples while Morgan Lenehan and Kailey Boedeker each recorded eight points.
    Shiner led 13-0 after one quarter and held a pretty convincing halftime lead of 31-2.
    The Lady Comanches outscored Sacred Heart 13-5 in the third period and 5-1 in the fourth quarter.
    Aleigh Kraatz led Sacred Heart with three points.

    Down 19-11 in the fourth quarter, the Lady Comanches junior varsity went on a 10-0 run to snatch a 21-19 win over the Indianettes.
    Sacred Heart led 7-5 after one frame and outscored Shiner 8-4 in the second period.
    The Indianettes scored four of six points in the third period.
    Lexi Boner led Shiner with eight points and also had 11 rebounds, one assist.
    Kallee Kifer had eight rebounds, three assists, one steal; MaKenna Pish chipped in three rebounds, three steals, one assist.
     Arabella Carlisle had one rebound; A’Journee Kuykendall finished with one one rebound.
     Olivia Akin contributed one rebound.
