Shiner golf: Shiner girls, boys golf teams each win second place at district tournament
Both Shiner golf teams earned runner up at the district tournament March 31 at the Victoria Country Club.
Girls
The Shiner 1 team won second place in district to qualify for the regional meet with a team score of 447.
Morgan Lenehan led the squad with a 103. Callie Chrismon carded a 113; Tawni Shelton had a 114; Olivia Akin totaled 117 and Jaeleigh Ramirez carded a 128.
The Shiner 2 team scored 510, led by Evy Johnson recording a 120. Addie Prove had a 125; Marie Johnson booked a 126; Callie Sevcik had a 139 and Raleigh Moore shot a 148.
Medalists for Shiner was Madeline Collins with a 133 and Harper Lenehan shot a 137.
The regional tournament is set for April 13-15 in Corpus Christi.
Boys
The Shiner Comanches won passage to regionals with second place in district, getting a team score of 395.
Chase Malinovsky carded a 92; Aidan Stowe had a 95; Jacob Nerada shot a 99; Chance Thiele had a 109 and Felix Nieto carded a 111.
The boys regional meet will be April 16-17 in Corpus Christi.
