Shiner golf: Shiner girls golf win passage to state for third straight year

The Shiner golf teams competed at the regional tournament April 16-17 at Corpus Christi’s Lozano Golf Course.
The Lady Comanches are headed back to state for the third year in a row after a third-place finish.
Callie Chrismon shot a 96 and 95 for 191. Morgan Lenehan had  97-106-203; Tawni Shelton had 113-99-212; Olivia Akin shot 117-118-235 and Jaeleigh Ramirez had 120-123-243.
Evelyn Johnson competed as an individual, carding a 115 and 116 for 231.
The Comanches placed seventh with a 721 total, 356 on day one and 365 on the second day.
Jacob Nerada led Shiner with a 88-85-173; Chase Malinovsky had. 85-93-178; Aidan Stowe scored 91-94-185. Felix Nieto had 92-93-185 and Marco Lara carded 98-112-210.
State Tournament
The Lady Comanches will once again close out the season at the state tournament early next week.
