Shiner playoff baseball: Comanches run past Bremond

The Comanches got past their first obstacle to a return to Round Rock.
Shiner beat Bremond in two games in the bi-district round series without giving up a single run at Georgetown Eastview Thursday and Saturday

Ryan Peterson and Drew Wenske combined to go for 7-7, two home runs, five total runs, triple, double and nine RBI to lead Shiner to a 24-0 drubbing of the Tigers on Thursday.
Shiner cranked out the hits with 19 and Peterson threw a one-hit shutout with a walk, one batter hit and 10 strikeouts.
“Ryan did a good job on the mound, managed the strike zone really well,” Comanches head coach Daniel Boedeker said. “I was happy with the way we hit the ball. We hit some hard shots and some of our outs were well struck. We ask the players to go up to the plate with a big approach and they do and good things happen.”
After allowing just one base runner in the top of the first, Shiner got to work in the bottom of the inning. Peterrson got the ball rolling with a shot over the wall in left field. Wenske was walked and was doubled in by Keenan Hailey.
Shiner then got five base hits out of the next six batters to score five runs.
Peterson, in his second plate appearance, scored Schuette on a sacrifice fly. Wenske then scored Jace Moeller and Cale Shows on a two-run single.
Hailey sent Wenske home on a single before Bremond concluded the inning by throwing Hailey out at second.
Bremond held Shiner to one hit and no runs in the second. The Tigers were not as fortunate in the third box.
The Comanches brought in 11 runs on seven hits and headlining the effort was Peterson who was 2-for-2 with a double and triple with three RBI and his runner Caden Chrismon scoring twice. Wenske got two hits, one of which was a two-run homer and Carson Schuette got a three-run triple.
In the fourth inning, Shiner put in some subs in the hitting lineup and scored four runs on two hits. Kaidan Boothe and Jake Davidson got a single with Boothe, Davidson, Landon Watson and Chrismon scoring one run.

Shiner 15, Bremond 0 (Game 2)
The Comanches used five-runs plus innings in the fourth and sixth to rout Bremond 15-0 Saturday afternoon in the second game.
The Comanches led just 3-0 after three innings; they brought in five runs in the fourth to go up by seven runs and scored eight runs in the sixth frame to conclude the game and the series.
Wenske yielded four hits and got 10 strikeouts to take the win on the mound. He got three hits and scored three runs.
Peterson went 2-for-4 with three runs, a home run. four RBI and two stolen  bases.
Hailey got two hits, two runs and an RBI while Nerada got three hits, one double, a run and RBI.On defense, Patek had six putouts.
