Shiner playoff softball: Lady Comanches sweep Charlotte

The Lady Comanches quickly took care of business in the area round against Charlotte Thursday in Kenedy with combined score of 26-3 (12-2, 14-1).

Shiner trailed 2-1 after two and half innings but scored five runs in the bottom of the third and brought in six runs in the fifth to open the series with a 12-2 win in five innings.
Teresa Olivas led on offense with two hits, a triple, two RBI and two runs. Kailey Boedeker got two hits, double and two RBI; Brinley Raimirez got two hits and two runs. Callie Sevcik got a double, run and three RBI.
Paeden Vincik limited Charlotte to two runs, two hits, had one wild pitch and one batter hit; walked two and struck out six.

Alaya Boedeker went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple, three runs and tree RBI to help Shiner earn the sweep with 14-1 decision in the second game.
Sevcik got two hits with three runs, double and RBI. Ramirez, Olivas and Riley Rainosek each got two hits as well. Vincik ceded a hit and run with two wild pitches, four walks and eight strikeouts, allowing three runs, three hits and fanning 18 batters in the series.
Shiner led just 3-0 after three innings before scoring four in the fourth, two more in the fifth and five in the sixth. Charlotte avoided a shutout with a single run in the bottom of the sixth.
