Shiner softball: Lady Comanches get three wins at Shiner/SH tournament

The Lady Comanches went 3-2 in the Shiner/Sacred Heart softball tournament last week.
Thursday
Shiner 6, Cuero 4
Riley Fluitt got two-run home run and Kara Kupka doubled in the Lady Comanches’ 6-4 rally against Cuero on Thursday morning.
Cuero led 1-0 after one inning and 3-0 after two innings. Shiner scored one run in the third and tied the game with a pair of runs in the fourth inning before outscoring Cuero 3-01 in the fifth box.
Kloe Polasek started at pitcher, going 3 2/3 innings with three runs on four hits, one batter hit two walks and five strikeouts. Addy Siegel worked 1 1/3 innings with one run, one batter hit, two walks and one strikeout to take the win.
Lauren Springfield had four putouts on defense.

Shiner 9, Bellville 5
Springfield hit 2-for-3, home run and two RBI while Reagan Fluitt hit a solo home run in Shiner’s 9-5 win over Bellville later on Thursday,
Shiner led 2-1 after the first inning and outscored the Bellville 7-1 in the second frame. Bellville outscored the Lady Comanches 1-0 in the third inning and 2-0 in the fourth inning.
Springfield ceded five runs on seven hits, one walk and one strikeout in four innings worked.
Cami Cowan had four putouts in the field.

Friday
Smithville 3, Shiner 1
Smithville scored a single run in the first through third innings and held Shiner to one run in the fifth inning to deal the Lady Comanches a 3-1 loss on Friday.
Polasek got two of Shiner’s five hits and scored the lone run.
She pitched two innings with three run on five hits, three walks and three strikeouts.  Hailey Radicke went three innings, three hits, one batter hit and one strikeout.
Springfield led the defensive effort with four putouts.

Shiner only got six hits but had four extra-base hits in a 12-1 rout of Austin Hyde Park Friday morning.
Polasek was 2-for-2, double, two runs two RBI; Cowan hit a home run and scored two total runs; Springfield had a triple with two runs, three RBI and Radicke doubled and plated three runs.
Springfield gave up just one run on one hit and had four strikeouts in three innings. Cowan had two putouts.
Shined led 1-0 after one inning but outscored the Lady Panthers 5-1 n the second inning and 6-0 in the third.

Sealy 8, Shiner 3
Sealy scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to break a 3-3 tie and defeat Shiner 8-3 on Saturday.
Sealy led 1-0 after one inning, 2-0 after two frames and Shiner took a 3-2 lead in the top of the third before the Lady Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the inning.
Shiner was held to four hits; Springfield pitched three innings with four hits, three runs and four strikeouts; Polasek ceded two hits, four runs, one wild pitch and two walks; Addy Siegel gave up one run, one hit and one walk.
Cowan made three putouts.
