Shiner softball: LCs lose to Ganado, CC Calallen

    The Lady Comanches closed out the district season with a 6-2 loss at top-ranked Ganado on April 14.
    The Maidens outscored Shiner 1-0 in the second inning and 4-1 in the third. Ganado scored a single run in the fourth. Shiner scored one run in the seventh.
    Shiner had four players with one hit each, led by Cami Cowan, who doubled and scored a run.
    Lauren Springfield pitched 3 1/3 innings, six runs, eight hits and one walk; Kloe Polasek threw for 2 2/3 innings, one hit, one walk and five strikeouts.
    Cowan had seven putouts on defense.

    The 4ADI Calallen Lady Wildcats outscored Shiner 8-1 in the third inning and defeated the Lady Comanches 14-4 in a non-district game Friday in Calallen.
    The Lady ‘Cats outscored Shiner 6-2 in the fourth and the Lady Comanches scored one run in the fifth inning.
    At the plate, Riley Fluitt was 2-for-3 with one RBI, and Polasek doubled and scored one run.
    The Lady Comanches had four players pitch — Polasek worked 2 1/3 innings with five hits, five runs with two walks; Gracyn Chrismon allowed three hits and three runs. 
    Hailey Radicke worked 2/3 innings with three hits; Springfield worked one inning with six runs on five hits and one walk.
    Springfield made four putouts and one assist on defense.
