Rice Consolidated at Shiner
The Comanches play at home for the first time this regular season and will start a two-game home stand, beginning with 3ADII Rice Consolidated  Blue Raiders at 7:30 tomorrow at Comanche Stadium.
Rice was 7-4 and bi-district finalists a year ago
The Raiders have a mixture of athleticism and size to give the Comanches a good challenge.
“They are a team that stands out,” Comanches head coach Daniel Boedeker wsaid. “They are very athletic at the skilled positions and are big on both. lines.
Boedeker said he feels RIce’s strength is their quarterback, receivers and running backs.
“Our defense has to prevent big plays. We cannot let them get behind us,” he said. “We have to get multiple players in on tackles.”
Shiner’s offensive strategy will be to keep the ball as long as possible.
“We have to control the ball by sustaining drives with no penalties and no turnovers. We need to score every chance we get,” Boedeker said.
Some players to watch for the Raiders are R-RB-DB  Robert Bennett, QB Kordae Johnson, OL-DL Zayde Cunningham and WR-DB AJ Jenkins,
In last year’s game, the Raiders took advantage of some Shiner turnovers to win 23-0.
St. Paul  at League City Bay Area Christian
The Cardinals pay Bay Area Christian a visit for the second season in a row due to some scheduling adjustments.
Like St. Paul, the Broncos are a run-first team.
“They do run some different formations that we will have to adjust to,” Cardinals head coach Barry Wolf said. “The fullback will get majority of the carries. We will have to stop their run, basically stopping ‘ourselves’.”
St. Paul was hampered by fumbles in last year’s contest, a 20-7 win by Bay Area Christian.
“Our offense needs to hang onto the football
Key players are OL-DL Carter Murphy, RB-LB Keaton Hall, RB-DB Kaleab Skeeter, OL-DL Joshua Kroese, QB Andrew Cresswell OL-DL Charles Kuebler and TE-DL Garrett Bessler.
Bay Area Christian’s key strength will be the size of the offensive line, led by Murphy. Cresswell (785 passing yards, nine touchdowns) and Hall (518 rushing yards nine touchdowns) will be the beneficiaries of the line.
