Shiner track and field: Lady Comanches sets new school record in mile-relay at state meet

The Shiner girls and boys track teams concluded the season Friday at the UIL state track meet at Mike A. Meyers Stadium at the University of Texas at Austin.

Girls
The 400-meter relay team of Brinley Ramirez, Rylee Vancura, Lauren Faldyn and Jaleah Curtis earned fourth place with a time of 49.11 seconds.
The mile-relay team of Hayleigh Burns, Vancura, Riley Rainosek and JaMya Wright finished in 4:03.15 for fifth place.
The time was a new school record. Kailey Boedeker got seventh in the shot put with a long throw of 37 feet, 7 1/4 inches and had throws of 37-6 1/4, 34-2 3/4; 35-10 1/4 and 36-10.

Boys
Dalton Brooks won fifth place in the long jump with a best jump of 22-2 and his other jumps were 22-1 1/4, 21-5, 22- 1/4; 18-11 and 21-9 1/2.The 800-relay team of Micah Carson,
Trace Bishop, Raken Wallace and Brooks placed seventh with 1:30.63.
