    The Shiner Junior Varsity Purple team won the freshmen division of the Schulenburg Tournament on Aug. 11. 
    The Lady Comanches played four matches and won four matches. In pool play, they defeated Weimar 25-7, 25-8; won 26-24 and 25-19 against Bellville and swept La Grange 25-14, 25-19.
    In the championship game, the Lady Comanches beat East Bernard 25-16 and 26-24.
